D. Adjective

E. Preposition

A word that shows the relationship between a noun (or pronoun) and other words in a sentence. Prepositions indicate location, time, direction, or manner.

F. Conjunction

A word that connects words, phrases, or clauses.

  1. Conjunctions can be coordinating (e.g., and, but)
  2. subordinating (e.g., because, although).

G. Interjection

A word or phrase used to express strong emotions or sudden reactions.

  1. Interjections are usually independent of the rest of the sentence.
    (Examples include wow, oh, ouch.)
